An Urban Resort Hotel Connected to an International Library
TAI Urban Resort in Kaohsiung is the eighth hotel of Chanyee Hotelday group, which is known for its cultural-creative design hotels. Located in the center of the harbor city’s Asia New Bay Area, the hotel is connected to Kaohsiung Public Library’s main building, creating what feels like a cultural living room in an urban setting. The hotel has a total of 208 guestrooms in various styles and appearances, five themed restaurants, and three outdoor bars located high up on the upper floors. Especially attractive is the cantilevered high-altitude transparent infinity swimming pool from where you can take in breathtaking views of the Asia New Bay Area. This has become one of the most beautiful places to enjoy unforgettable sunsets.
A Unique Cultural Living Room in the Harbor City
Chanyee Hotelday group first started in the southern Taiwan city of Chiayi in 2011. The brand is well known for its cultural-creative design hotels, each featuring its own theme. The hotels have been ingeniously designed by incorporating elements of local culture. TAI Urban Resort, a new type of city resort hotel, was opened in September 2022. Via a sky bridge the hotel building is connected with Kaohsiung Public Library’s main building. For this reason, and also because of the rich art collection and installation art inside the hotel, the display of a wide variety of books, and a series of exhibitions and experience activities, the hotel has become known as the “cultural living room of the Asia New Bay Area.” According to Tai Shu-ling, general manager of TAI Urban Resort, the hotel operation differs from traditional hotels in that the characteristic of the travel destination are taken into account. The aim is to create a new modern era of leisure and entertainment culture in Kaohsiung with the hotel becoming part of the travel memories of visitors to the harbor city.
