Taipei Select – Traditional Taiwanese Household Items
This century-old shop in the Dadaocheng neighborhood specializes in traditional bamboo and wooden kitchenware and household items, just like Taiwanese grandmas used to have. Thanks to the creative vision of the shop’s fourth-generation owner, many of these old-fashioned goods have now found a new purpose. A great example is the jiazhi bag. This classic shopping bag was given a new design and color palette, making it both fashionable and practical. As a result, it has become very popular with shoppers young and old. There are many more fascinating treasures to find at Grandma’s Kitchen!
Grandma’s Kitchen has been part of the Store Transformation in Taipei program, initiated by the Taipei City Government in 2015. The program aims to revitalize Taipei’s food and beverage sector as well as its traditional industries. By providing in-depth support, the program helps businesses transform and upgrade, ultimately shaping Taipei’s urban tourism landscape.
