Taipei Select – Old Eatery Serving Handmade Snack Food
This family-run business, now in its third generation, continues to make fresh squid soup and Fuzhou meatballs by hand daily. Fresh squid is cut into thick finger-long strips and wrapped in homemade fish paste, creating plump and chewy pieces. Beloved by both locals and tourists alike, this has been a staple of Dadaocheng district’s snack culture for the past 70 years.
Grandpang’s Soup has been part of the Store Transformation in Taipei program, initiated by the Taipei City Government in 2015. The program aims to revitalize Taipei’s food and beverage sector as well as its traditional industries. By providing in-depth support, the program helps businesses transform and upgrade, ultimately shaping Taipei’s urban tourism landscape.
